Kickoff excitement begins meaningful connections. -Silas Todd, Liberty-Benton Campus Life

Club at Liberty-Benton Middle School Campus Life is rolling! On October 4, we had our harvest-themed kickoff party at the YFC Club House to begin my first full year of weekly club meetings.

After weeks of going to school lunches and events to connect with teens and share an invitation to the kickoff, we weren’t sure what to expect. We had planned for s’mores, bobbing for apples, apple cider, and even pumpkin smashing activities for the students. I thought surely, we had planned enough for each snack as we were setting up for the evening, but you can imagine my surprise when we counted 53 students at the beginning of the meeting! As usual, God had done far more than I had imagined, and a last-minute run to the grocery store assured every student got to participate!

Throughout the night, we worked to get to know new students and reconnect with students that returned from last year. Kickoffs are exciting and high energy fun, but more importantly, a stepping stone to begin the process of getting to know teens’ stories and earning the right to share the message of hope and love that is in Christ.

We couldn’t be more excited about what God is doing right now, and ask that you continue your faithful prayer and support for what will happen in the future!
