Lighting Fires of Faith -Stef Tropf, Findlay City Life

Vulnerable times around the fire ring can lead to life changes.

Throughout the summer, City Life has continued to remain open and buzzing with hangouts planned for our students new and old. One thing we have loved is getting to spend some extra time with our graduated seniors who are headed off to college this month…eek! But also, we love that our “City Life Nights” have been a time of fellowship and connecting. We have loved our new addition to the community yard area out back – a beautiful fire ring, created by some very talented men in the ministry on the same property as City Life. We are so grateful for this as it’s been around this fire ring that we’ve had moments of tears, reflection, joy and full bellies of s’mores and hobo pies. In addition to our hangouts at City Life, we’ve taken many students to the Bluffton pool where we get to party together as an entire chapter of ministry in Northwest Ohio. It’s such a blast seeing students in and around Hancock County meet and create memories together!

As we gear up for a new school year, YES, it’s here already, we ask that you join in prayer for our faithful volunteers and the students coming in. Whether they are meeting us for the first time, or they’ve been attending our programs and activities for years, we want to cover our space and minds in prayer. Would you join us in doing this as we approach a new year? We have many students who are nervous or excited or completely dreading the upcoming school year. We are eager to welcome them to our safe space each week on Monday and Tuesday, to fill their cups with a caring heart and truth. Our focus verse will be Psalm 62:5-6: “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”
