The Father’s Heart -Junior Ramos, Lima City Life
This Father’s Day weekend has been one to remember. I was blessed to get to spend time with some of my grandbabies, have a cookout with two of my sons, and relax with my wife afterwards. All said and done, great day. In this midst of all that there was one particular thing that happened that would top the day off.
As I was ending the day with a full stomach and heart, I was greeted by a message. I have recently been trying to be intentional about my down time and would have most likely disregarded the sound of my phone going off. This time I looked to see the name of who was messaging me. I read the message, and even though my heart was already full, I found there was room for more. It was one of our students. The message read as this, “Happy Father’s Day. You have been just like a father to me.” Once again God’s reassurance was the engine that propelled me to understand why we do what we do.
Psalm 68: 4-5 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, extol him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before him—his name is the LORD. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
When God shows Himself in a manner which cannot be denied, we must show ourselves faithful to Him in a manner which cannot be denied by others. Set the bar high. We serve a Mighty God.
